About

Kendall Gow
Urology Nurse Practitioner, Sexologist and Credentialled Diabetes Educator
I’m a Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of nursing experience, and I’ve built my career around the parts of healthcare that people find hardest to talk about — sexual health, weight, diabetes, and what happens to the body when life gets complicated.
My clinical focus sits at the intersection of urology, women’s and men’s sexual health, weight management, and diabetes education. It’s a combination that doesn’t often exist under one roof, and that’s exactly the point. The people I see are rarely dealing with just one thing.
I hold a Bachelor of Science (Nursing), Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition), and Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) — all from Edith Cowan University — alongside postgraduate studies in diabetes education, sports nutrition, and sexology. As a Nurse Practitioner, I’m qualified to assess, diagnose, prescribe, and refer, which means you get genuinely comprehensive care without being shuffled between providers. I also give back to that same institution as a sessional academic at ECU, teaching in both the undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing and the Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) programs — which keeps me current, and deeply connected to the next generation of practitioners.
My nursing career began at Hollywood Private Hospital, where I spent over a decade across oncology, urology and gynaecology, general surgery, and diabetes education. In 2021, I moved into urology private practice part-time, working with men navigating prostate cancer — supporting them through rapid pre-surgical weight loss and long-term survivorship. That experience shaped a lot of how I practice today. By January 2022, I moved full time into private practice.
I hold active memberships with:
- Australian Diabetes Educators Association
- International Society of Sexual Medicine
- Society of Australian Sexologists
- Australian College of Nurse Practitioners
- Australia and New Zealand Urological Nurses Society, and
- Currently serve on the Healthy Male Health Practitioners advisory board as well as Movember where I contribute to their education platforms.
One thing I’ve learned across every role I’ve held: the body is always central to the story, no matter someone’s age, size, or health status. Whether you’re navigating prostate cancer, weight changes, a diabetes diagnosis, or something you’ve never said out loud to anyone — I’m here to listen without judgement, and to actually help.
Outside the clinic, you’ll find me at a good wine restaurant, improving my handicap on the golf course, or deep into whatever podcast has me hooked this week.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners in Australia are highly skilled and qualified healthcare professionals who have completed advanced education and training, at a Master’s level. They are registered nurses with specialized knowledge, enabling them to provide a wide range of healthcare services, including diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.
The title “Nurse Practitioner” can only be used by a person who has been endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
What does that mean for me if I see a Nurse Practitioner?
- Medicare rebates are available for every consult
- Nurse Practitioners have authority to prescribe medications, including access to Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) medicines
- Authority to refer patients to hospitals and Specialists
- Able to order radiology and pathology, contributing to efficient and thorough patient assessments.
Seeing a Nurse Practitioner allows for a more comprehensive understanding of a patient’s health, facilitating accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans.
